瑪嬌達是位熱愛文學、出類拔萃、思想成熟的小孩。她有著隔空取物的超能力，更用它來對付身邊可惡的大人！

 Did the story of Matilda resonate with you? If so in what way?

Matilda tells the story of a girl who possesses special powers. At the time I played this character, I was quite obsessed with fairies and magic. I was really enthralled with the idea of discovering a special power and outsmarting the adults around me.

 《瑪嬌達》的故事有引起你的共鳴嗎？

《瑪嬌達》的故事講述一個擁有特殊天賦的女孩。當時的我很迷戀仙子和魔法，正好角色在劇中發掘自己的特殊能力，更能騙過身邊的大人，對我來說是多麼吸引的事！

Impressions of performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival…

The quality and vast diversity of the shows on offer at The Fringe was incredibly inspiring and humbling for me to be exposed to at such a young age. There is a wonderfully positive atmosphere around Edinburgh during the fringe and it was exciting to be a part of it.

愛丁堡藝穗節提供了許多多元化及高質素的節目。能夠在年輕的時候接觸及經歷這一切，是一件很富啓發性的事。藝穗節的氣氛充滿正能量，而我很興奮可以成為藝穗節的一分子。

Funny/interesting memory about your experience in Matilda:

The most special moment of our performance run was our opportunity to meet Liccy Dahl (Roald Dahl’s wife) she shared some precious anecdotes about Roald Dahl and his favourite stories.

整個過程最寶貴的是能結識到芙莉希蒂•達爾(作者羅爾德•達爾的妻子) 。 她與我們分享一些有關羅爾德•達爾的趣事以及他最喜愛的故事。

So what’s a description of yourself in real life?

I am a Fashion designer.

我是一位時裝設計師。

Did being in Matilda and with YAF impact your life? If so, how?

Matilda was my first lead role and definitely boosted my confidence, I remember returning to school after summer with a new found self belief in my own creativity.

瑪嬌達是我首次繹演的戲劇主角，這大大提升了我的自信心。猶記得在暑假後回到學校時，我對自己的創作找到新的肯定。

你好！我是方慶霖，而我在<<瑪嬌達>>飾演的角色是瑪嬌達。

You would describe her as…

Matilda is a very smart and intelligent little girl, She loves to read and to go to the library. Matilda is an extraordinary child. She is very unlike her parents and brother. Every night she would rather read while eating, than to watch TV all night like her parents and brother do.

 你怎樣形容她的性格?

瑪嬌達是一個聰明伶俐的小女孩。她最愛閱讀和流連圖書館。她是個才華出眾的孩子，與她父母和哥哥截然不同。每晚她寧願邊看書邊吃飯，也不會像父母和哥哥那樣，整晚只顧看電視。

 What’s your experience at rehearsals so far?

Being Matilda is hard for me because she has the most lines and I had never been a main character before, so I always give my best in rehearsals and try to remember the lines I need to throughout the week. I also need to use a 4-5 year old voice because Matilda is 5 years old.

 Every single rehearsal has been great because I get to practice a little bit more. It’s really helpful that Maria corrects your lines if you get them wrong, so you don’t end up memorizing the wrong line and saying the wrong thing during performances. What is also helpful is that Lindsey gives many comments, which helps you to make corrections and improve.

 現時的排練過程是如何的?

對我而言，飾演瑪嬌達是相當困難，因為她的對白是最多，而且我亦從未試過擔任主角，所以我必須在排練中全力以赴，每週盡我所能去記得所有對白。而且劇中的瑪嬌達只有5歲，我亦要模仿4至5歲的小孩聲線。

 每一次排練都很棒，因為可以再練習多一點。如果對白說錯了，副導演黄智茵就會立即更正我，防止我記錯對白。導演麥蓮茜的評語都很有用–她給予明確的指示後，使我有效地改正及改善。

Any funny/interesting memory on the production so far?

The funniest memory so far is the fact that Daren keeps on forgetting the script whenever he gets to a very dramatic line. :-)

可以分享排練中一些趣事嗎?

最好笑的是當Daren經常忘記那句很浪漫的對白。

So what’s a description of yourself in real life?

If I had to describe myself I would describe myself as a hardworking girl because I always try to do my best. Hence I always make corrections – wrong tone, wrong actions, standing in the wrong position or if the acting is not good enough.

 The second thing that I would describe myself as is a happy and positive person, because sometimes even when I get bad comments, I’m still happy because the person who just gave me comments makes me realize what I need to improve on. I’m happy because they/he/she is just wanting to help me become better.

你能形容一下現實中的你是怎樣的嗎？

如果要我描述自己的性格，我會說我是一個很勤奮的人，每一次表演都全力以赴，並改進自己做得不足的地方，例如在語氣、動作、企位或演技方面。

 另外，我亦是一個開朗樂觀的人。即使受到別人的批評，我還是開心，因為批評的人令我知道我有進步的空間。我開心的原因是我了解他們不過是希望我得以進步，做得更好。

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

If I had a superpower it would be memorizing because it would be so much easier, like memorizing all my lines in a minute then I can go and work on the actions, tone and the next transition etc.

 如果你有一種超能力，你希望是甚麼?

如果可以有一種超能力，我希望擁有超強的記憶力。這會令所有事都變得更容易，例如只需一分鐘就可以背誦所有對白，然後就可以集中鑽研動作、語氣和過渡場景等。

Is this project different to other projects you have done before? How/Why?

This project is similar to other projects that I’ve done in the past because they all have skill building, transitions, a little bit of dance, and people being  things/stuff in scenes.

 今次的演出與你之前參與過的演藝項目有所不同嗎?

這次演出與過往的很類似，大家都會培訓才能之餘，亦有過渡場景和少許舞蹈排練，也有演員的角色是一件物件。

 How did you get involved in YAF and has that impacted your life?

I met Lindsey, the director of YAF, at Beacon Hill School when we did a dance presentation. She introduced YAF to my mom, which caught my interest because it is about performing. It has impacted my life so much – as it means more rehearsals, more performances, more practicing, and improving things that I’ve learned from the previous performances. It also teaches me to be a responsible individual. I LOVE REPRESENTING YAF!!

參與香港青年藝術協會的製作怎樣影響你的人生?

有次在畢架山小學，我參與一部舞蹈作品的演出，因此遇見YAF的創辦人麥蓮茜。她向我的母親介紹香港青年藝術協會的時候，大大吸引了我的目光，因為全都是關於表演藝術的。這對我的人生有著深遠的影響—參與YAF表示我將接受更多的綵排、演出、排練及改善自己以往在演出所學到的知識，YAF亦教會我要做個盡責的人。我很榮幸能夠代表香港青年藝術協會!!
